AHC was formed in honor of James Henry McShea (Jim), a talented musician and artist, witty and engaging friend, and treasured family member who has been homeless in Baltimore since 2012.

Apollo is the god of homeless people, healing, music and art.
Homelessness is our primary focus, with a particular emphasis on homelessness caused by or coupled with mental health issues.
Collaborative refers to our mode of operating, working closely with communities as well as other organizations aiding the homeless population.

Through our partner organizations, AHC provides support to people who are experiencing homelessness, and estimated 67% of whom have concurrent mental illness, and for 24%, homelessness is attributable to these challenges.

People Encouraging People of Baltimore
Empowers individuals and families experiencing homelessness through housing, employment, and wraparound support services, fostering self-sufficiency, resilience, and lasting stability while helping people rebuild their lives with dignity and purpose.
The Franciscan Center of Baltimore
Serves people experiencing homelessness and housing instability with meals, clothing, eviction prevention, and case management, guided by Franciscan values of compassion, dignity, and justice while supporting pathways toward stability and hope.
Saint Luke’s Church on the Avenue (Hampden)
Extends radical hospitality to neighbors experiencing homelessness through meals, outreach, and compassionate support, with a mission-driven thrift shop that funds assistance programs and provides affordable clothing and household goods with dignity.
